The Players You Need To Start/Sit For Thursday Night

Before we get into this I just have to say we are so back! Football is in two days from now and on Thursday we will be watching the Cowboys play the Eagles to kickoff the NFL season.

If you guys don’t already know Football is my favorite sport to watch and now it is finally here. We are so back! Now lets get into my Starts/Sits for Thursday Night.

Before we get into this I want to explain what Start/Sits are for Fantasy Football. I am not saying these are my number one ranked players, and I am not saying you absolutely need to start these players if you do have them, but what I am saying is that I would be comfortable starting these players that I put in the “Start” category and I will be benching players that I put in the “Sit” category.

Bottom line is that players in the “Start” category I expect to be fantasy productive and players in the “Sit” category are players that will probably burn you in my opinion.

Not going to say I have a crystal ball on this, no fantasy analyst really does, but I am trying my best to give you advice that is backed by research and statistics, along with just some gut feeling as well.

STARTS

Without a doubt you are starting these players:

  • CeeDee Lamb

  • Saquon Barkley

  • AJ Brown (If Healthy)

  • DeVonta Smith

  • George Pickens

  • Dak Prescott

  • Jalen Hurts

We won’t even talk about CeeDee or Saquon because you likely drafted these two players to be the face of your fantasy team. Just to be clear regardless of matchup you will never sit these players in fantasy unless they literally won’t be playing the game due to an injury.

Let’s start off with Dak Prescott here. For the past couple of years Dallas has been one of the most pass heavy offenses in the NFL and I think you will see that in full display here with this game. Dak could realistically have 30+ pass attempts on Thursday which obviously will benefit CeeDee Lamb, but this leads me into my next point with George Pickens. I expect Pickens to be a strong WR2 in fantasy this year so in a pass heavy offense I expect Pickens to have his fair share of work in this offense. Pickens will be the more boom/bust type player on this offense, but in a high passing volume offense and a player of his talent it is really hard to pass up on him.

Moving on to the Eagles here I really just think the Eagles will score a lot in this game and with that the core four that I listed in my STARTS could all be beneficiaries. Hurts, AJ, and Saquon all have safer floors and DeVonta Smith is the more boom/bust but in a game like this where points will be put up on the board, hard to pass on him as well.

STREAMERS

Players I would be comfortable starting, but don’t necessarily have to would be Jake Ferguson and Dallas Goedert. I think both tight ends are talented but the problem is that I think because they are a bit lower in my rankings, they would not be my first choice unless I really punted the TE position this year.

SITS

Players I am sitting on Thursday:

  • Javonte Williams

  • Any other Dallas RB

  • Any other Eagles player that I did not list or talk about

With these players I just don’t expect any fantasy production at all to the point where it would be worth a spot in your lineup.

Hope you gained value out of this! Really appreciate you taking the time to read this and I will catch you in the next one!
