Before we get into free agency, check out our updated rankings on both Running Back and Wide Receiver for the 2025 Season of Fantasy Football.
Also Check out some of our Sleepers as well. These are some players we believe are being slept on in fantasy football for the 2025 season.
Quarterback
Sam Darnold: Signed with the Seahawks
Fantasy Impact: Best case scenario considering what he had in Minnesota. Has a good supporting cast with Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Cooper Kupp and Kenneth Walker. Sam Darnold has proven that he is good enough to be a starting QB in the league and with the Seahawks, he has all the weapons necessary in order to succeed.
Justin Fields: Signed with the Jets
Fantasy Impact: In terms of offensive weapons, this is a better situation than what he had in Pittsburgh. Fields will look to reunite with Garrett Wilson and he will also have Breece Hall as well. We also know how dangerous Fields is on the ground which is part of the reason why he can be so good for fantasy purposes.
Running Back
Aaron Jones: Signed with the Vikings
Fantasy Impact: Aaron Jones will once again look to continue his success in Minnesota, although Jordan Mason did just sign with the Vikings as well, we still think this is primarily going to be Jones’s backfield. Expect Aaron Jones to be an RB2 going into 2025.
Najee Harris: Signed with the Chargers
Fantasy Impact: This is the perfect situation for Najee Harris, J.K. Dobbins is likely not resigning, and there is no competition for Najee Harris at the moment. Najee Harris is likely going to be the full fledged RB1 and is running behind both a better offense and offensive line, could this be a great year for Najee? Don’t sleep on Najee!
Kareem Hunt: Signed with the Chiefs
Fantasy Impact: This is going to affect both Pacheco and Kareem Hunt. We don’t really know who the RB1 is going to be. We thought Pacheco last year was for sure the RB1 for the future, but at least for this year, it could be Hunt or Pacheco, don’t really know. It is kind of looking like a 1A 1B situation, and maybe both Pacheco and Kareem Hunt are players you might want to avoid.
Wide Receiver
Tee Higgins: Signs with the Bengals
Fantasy Impact: Tee Higgins will be an absolute monster next year. He has had some injury trouble, but his upside cannot be ignored. Look to draft Tee Higgins next year.
Chris Godwin: Signed with the Buccaneers
Fantasy Impact: This is perfect for Chris Godwin. He will continue to play perfectly in the slot, and this is going to be amazing for his fantasy value. Currently his projections are around WR31, which is very low for a player that was in contention for overall WR1 in 2024 before the injury. Draft Godwin, he will not disappoint.
Cooper Kupp: Signed with the Seahawks
Fantasy Impact: This is going to be interesting to see as both Njigba and Kupp are slot receivers. Cooper Kupp could likely be the guy that helps Sam Darnold ultimately get comfortable in Seattle, but Njigba will probably be the WR1 while Kupp is going to be the WR2, but expect the passing game to be high with Seattle.
Davante Adams: Signed with the Rams
Fantasy Impact: This is really good for Davante Adams. Probably one of the best places for him to have gone to. Davante will be playing alongside Puka, Puka will likely be the WR1 but Davante will still get plenty of targets to be a high end WR2 in fantasy.
Tight End
Evan Engram: Signed with the Broncos
Fantasy Impact: This is an amazing landing spot for Engram. This is an emerging offense and the Broncos definitely need a premier Tight End to come in, and Evan Engram is that person. This will be good for Bo Nix too, as Engram can be kind of that safety blanket for Nix in the short passing game.
Zach Ertz: Signs with the Commanders
Fantasy Impact: Expect more of the same from Ertz next year, he will continue to be a target earner on the Commanders, and you shouldn’t be afraid of drafting Zach Ertz.
